SIT Distribution completed its first successful year of operation in the UAE after establishing the business in late 2007 the company set about to build its infrastructure in the UAE to support its regional distribution aspirations.

Our first year is behind us and much was achieved in terms of recruitment, we were very fortunate to bring Geetha Surendranathan on board as a finance manager, Geetha brought with her many years of experience working for multinational companies into the business managing the company's finances and establishing the right systems and processes supporting our customers, vendors and our own people.

We were also successful in bringing a good number of people to front the sales organisations across the UAE and GCC, Janan Eisa was brought on board to support our GCC customers and Janan again brought with her many years experience which enabled her to hit the ground running.

SIT Distribution was very fortunate to be able to establish its structure within DAFZA and although the first 9 months the operation was run from serviced offices while DAFZA was completing its infrastructure to provide new start up with adequate facilities for their operations.

SIT Distribution was extremely fortunate to be appointed as one of many distributors for HTC corporation in the middle East and I extend our gratitude to HTC senior management in Taiwan for recognising SIT Distribution people capablities to achieve their objectives for the region.

Also during 2008 SIT Distribution took a bold decision to open its first regional entity in Jordan, although Jordan is a small market SIT Distribution was fortunate to have the right people in place to enable it to make such a bold decision also it was a measure of SIT believe that to be a regional player it must be present in each local market.  Emad Nashwan was appointed the Country Manager and he set about establishing the office infrastructure for the country.

The first year saw the company ship some 30,000 smart devices to our retail partners across the GCC countries with KSA and UAE accounting for the major share of the business and everyone in SIT Distribution offers sincere thanks to all our customers for supporting our efforts.

I would like to thank all our employees for their outstanding contribution, hard work and dedication for making our first year a good year for the company and I look forward to working with all for the years ahead.
